First Thought: Shouldn't this be about actually having accomplished
something?
Second Thought: Wow, the "world establishment", so to say, was really freaked out by Bush Cheney, and it wants to do whatever it can to let Americans know about its relief that America has rejoined the more or less sane mainstream again.
Third Thought: Has there really been enough separation between Bush's
policies and Obama's policies to warrant this award? How much is this about style and how much about substance? Apart from giving speeches, where's the peace? Afghanistan?
Fourth Thought: Rush and Fox will be making all kinds of fun of this, but who cares?
Fifth Thought: I guess it just boils down to its being a slow peace year.
