I taped it, but I’m not going to bother to watch it. Everything at this point seems anti-climactic. Only interested if something gamechanging happened, and apparently nothing like that did. I watched enough post-debate highlights to have confirmed my basic assumption that Clinton is in an impossible position. Obama flicks away her attacks with humor and ease. No need for him to do anything more. Only drama left is whether Obama will win both Texas and Ohio, or just Texas. I hope, but don’t expect, that she will concede next week. It’s time to move on to the next stage.

Jack,
For a multiplicity of reasons, wouldn’t you say that William F. Buckley would prove to be a compelling ATF topic?
His many contradictions and peculiarities illustrate a number of differences within both conservatism and libertarianism in their real and perceived forms. Moreover, I’d be very interested to know what you think/thought of Buckley.
I always wished that he and another Bill—Moyers—would both run for president, with the two major political parties getting the heck out of the way and giving their blessing. We’d have a PBS “discussion table” campaign which would serve as the late 20th/early 21st century equivalent of Lincoln-Douglas.
Alas, this never happened.
